Accessing the Testnet

Accessing the Testnet

The Settlus Testnet is the ideal environment for users and developers to explore the blockchain, test transactions, and deploy applications without incurring real costs. Follow the steps below to connect to the Settlus Testnet.

Step 1: Set Up a Wallet

To interact with the Settlus Testnet, you need an Ethereum-compatible wallet. We recommend MetaMask.

  1. Install MetaMask:

    • Download and install the MetaMask extension for your browser or the mobile app.

  2. Create or Import a Wallet:

    • Set up a new wallet or import an existing one using your recovery phrase.

  3. Switch to Testnet Mode:

    • Enable viewing of test networks in MetaMask by navigating to Settings > Advanced > Show test networks.

Step 2: Add the Settlus Testnet Network

Manually configure MetaMask to connect to the Settlus Testnet by adding the following network details:

To add this network:

  1. Open MetaMask.

  2. Go to Settings > Networks > Add a Network.

  3. Enter the above details and save.

Step 3: Obtain Test ETH

You’ll need test ETH to pay for gas fees while interacting with the Testnet. Follow these steps to get test ETH:

  1. Access the Sepolia Faucet:

  2. Request Test ETH:

    • Connect your wallet to the faucet.

    • Enter your wallet address and request test ETH.

  3. Confirm Receipt:

    • Open your MetaMask wallet and verify that the test ETH has been credited to your account.

  4. Bridge to Settlus

Step 4: Start Interacting with the Testnet

Once your wallet is set up and funded, you can:

  • Send and receive test transactions.

  • Deploy and test smart contracts.

  • Interact with decentralized applications (dApps) built on Settlus.

Troubleshooting

  • Network Issues: If you encounter connectivity issues, double-check the RPC URL and Chain ID.

  • Insufficient Test ETH: Visit the faucet again or contact support if you’re unable to receive test funds.

  • Wallet Not Connected: Ensure your MetaMask wallet is unlocked and connected to the Settlus Testnet.
